Ingredients
- 2 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice from 10 to 12 lemons
- 1 cup sugar
- 8 ounces El Guapo Ponchatoula
- Strawberry Syrup
- 1 pint local strawberries
- 6 cups cold water
Directions
- Place the strawberries, 1/4 cup sugar, and 1 cup of water into a blender. Whir until smooth and thoroughly pureed. Set aside.
- Make a simple syrup by placing 1 cup of sugar and 1 cup of water in a small saucepan. Bring the mixture to a simmer and stir until the sugar dissolves completely. Remove from heat and let the syrup cool.
- Combine the strawberry puree, simple syrup, strawberry syrup, and lemon juice into a serving pitcher. Stir to combine. Add 6 more cups of cold water, stir until incorporated.
- Pour the strawberry lemonade into a pitcher and refrigerate. Serve over ice.
Kitchen Notes
Frozen strawberries may be substituted with similar results. The lemonade may be made and refrigerated for up to 3 days. If the El Guapo syrup is unavailable, simple double the simple syrup.
