Product Description

A Victorian cast bronze silvered desk inkstand, the design after the famous painting by Sir Edwin Landseer titled Isaly, Tilco and a Macaw, the painting was commissioned by Queen Victoria and exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1840. The inkstand is gilded brass and the feeding cups serve as candle sockets. The two dogs, Islay, a Skye terrier is the inkstand and Tilco, a Sussex spaniel, holds a shallow dish for nibs. The Macaw is for tapers used to melt sealing wax.
