This vintage French oyster basket comes from the coast of Brittany, where it was once a trusted tool aboard fishing boats in the 1950s. Deep and round with a beautifully weathered wire frame and smooth wooden handles, it was used to hold freshly harvested oysters and other bivalves while out at sea.
Decades later, its form remains as purposeful as ever. The timeworn patina speaks to years of use along the salt air and working harbors, giving each basket a distinct character.
