From the Autumn Equinox through mid October, New England’s landscape palette shifts. Cerulean skies hover over miles and miles of coastlines, hills, and mountains bursting with sugar maples, red oaks, and quaking aspen trees dressed in vibrant shades of yellow, orange, purple, and red. Much of the fun of leaf peeping season is the chase. It is a fleeting quest for nature’s sensory glory, grainy textures, color cornucopia, and magical visual warmth. Our fall collection is the culmination of the chase all around the world to capture things that make living, giving, and entertaining as vibrant, warm, and cozy as sweater weather season. Amidst a place in the woods where all that is left of 19th century home is the stone fireplace, a table is set with the forest acting as the walls of the dining room. A richly colored washable wool fringed Antique Stewart Hunting Throw acts as a tablecloth that is set with woodland elements. A vintage Ralph Lauren antler candelabra stick brings light to the forest. The Gien Rambouillet hand painted collection features hunting dogs, hares, partridges, pheasants and the stags of the Château de Rambouillet just outside of Paris. The pattern of William Yeoward Crystal Vanessa Tortoiseshell wine goblets shimmer in the autumn glow. Vintage baskets and creels used to carry supper into the woods and 1800s English spindle back chairs and stools make for functional woodland decor. A vintage glass cloche adds drama to the tablescape and keeps the cheese beneath it safe from forest animals. Sabre Paris Icone Steel Blue Flatware glows and adds richness and color. Our pointer sits quietly waiting for his master and mistress to sit down at the table and enjoy the sounds of the autumn forest.
