A copper finished cast iron raised pastoral hunting scene with a rabbit on one side and a pheasant on the other is richly detailed and evokes the quiet drama of field and forest with a double-basket weave border that lends texture and depth and functionality as a match keeper.
Once found beside hearths and wood stoves, this match safe was designed to keep strike-anywhere matches dry and close at hand.
