Tuscan Cooking Lab
Dining on the second floor of a private home overlooking the Arno River with views of the Goldsmith-lined, wood-shuttered shops along the 14th century Ponte Vecchio bridge may make it a wee bit difficult to focus on the food.
No worries, the hosts are used to the view stealing the show—at least for the time it takes to pour and drink a glass (or two) of Prosecco. The panoramic view of ancient Florence sets this demonstration kitchen apart, but the simple farm-to-table preparation of locally inspired Tuscan plates prepared in a modern-meets-retro kitchen makes for an evening to remember. Classics such as giant zucchini flowers stuffed with ricotta and Parmesan cheese and handmade ravioli stuffed with spinach and a summer marinara highlight the dinner menu. A class tiramisu for dessert is the perfect way to end a truly only-in-Florence experience.
