Once found behind the counters of English inns and public houses, these 19th century copper haystack measures recall a time when ale and cider were poured with ritual and precision. Graduated from one eighth gill to a full gallon, each vessel served its purpose in the calibrated pouring of spirits for discerning patrons. Forged in the 1860s using dovetail construction, the craftsmanship is evident in every detail. The copper has developed a rich and mottled patina over time, a warm testament to its years of use and care.
