A shallow mid 19th centuryFrench hearth skillet, hand formed in copper with a side handle for steady lifting at the fire. Unlined copper inside and out, it was valued for quick, even heat, ideal for sugar work, syrups, preserves, and other preparations where temperature control mattered. Today it brings the look of an old working kitchen to open shelving or the hearth, and it remains a special purpose piece for traditional cooks who appreciate copper’s responsiveness.
