Product Description

Vintage nineteenth century French trumpet glasses in amber glass, etched with a grapevine leaf. The trumpet form carries an older lineage than the dining table. In Europe it began as a ceremonial instrument, its flared bell designed to project sound across courtyards, parades, and public squares. Glassmakers later borrowed that same flare for celebratory stems, a shape that lifts aroma, catches candlelight, and suits the theater of a proper toast. The grapevine leaf etching brings the piece back to the vineyard, where French drinking culture has always been as much about place as it is about taste.
