Hand carved during World War II, this oak stool is a modest yet enduring example of domestic craftsmanship. A single flower is etched into the center of the seat, its design softened by time and use. The stool stands on intricately turned legs connected by a sturdy stretcher, giving it balance and structure. The oak has aged beautifully, with a mellow tone and a gently worn surface that is functional and decorative as a fireside seat, a low side table, or a simple accent in a room.
