An oval French medium sized gathering basket with a century plus history shaped by hand from wooden slats and fitted with a handle that settles comfortably in the crook of the arm. This style of basket served many purposes across rural France. It was carried inland during the walnut harvest and used along the coast for oysters and small seaside provisions. The simple construction and honest materials reflect the working life of the period.Product Details
