An uncommon English serving tray from the 1880s, distinguished by its refined rectangular form and silver plated gallery. The tray bears its original monogram, offering a glimpse into the household for which it was commissioned more than a century ago.
In Victorian homes, trays of this shape were often used for the presentation of decanters, cigars, cordial glasses, and after dinner service. The elongated proportions also made them practical for carrying correspondence, calling cards, and tea things between rooms.
