Vintage 1880s Christofle Le Grand Hotel Champagne Bucket
Product Description
Heavy hotel silver gives this late nineteenth-century champagne bucket the substance to hold an ice chill around a bottle of Champagne. Two raised rings encircle the body, while the generous proportions reflect its original use at Le Grand Hôtel, where silver was expected to withstand service at the grandest tables.
Christofle produced some of France’s finest hotel silver during this period, combining durability with the standards of formal French dining. A rare surviving example from the 1880s, its weight, scale, and provenance belong to the great age of Parisian hotel entertaining.
