Product Description

Dating to the 19th century, these vintage French beer mugs were made by Portieux Vallerysthal, the celebrated glassworks of northeastern France known for its richly colored pressed glass. Offered in jewel-like blue and warm amber, each mug has the substantial weight, molded detail, and brilliant color characteristic of the maker’s early glassware.

Designed for beer and made for the convivial tables of the period, their generous handles and sturdy forms reflect a time when even everyday drinking vessels were made with remarkable presence. More than a century later, variations in the glass and traces of age lend each mug the individual character prized in antique French glass.
