Product Description
Handcrafted in Paris, this antique travel trunk retains its original brass retailer’s plaque reading “Articles de Voyage – Ruel Jeune, Paris, Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville.” The poplar wood case, a lightweight yet durable choice traditionally favored by French trunk makers, is reinforced with iron straps and corner mounts and finished with brass hardware, rivets, and clasps. Original leather handles remain at each side.
Open the trunk to find a remarkably clean, light-colored interior with its original removable fitted tray and fabric straps for securing belongings in transit. A cord lattice lines the inside of the lid, designed to keep documents and garments neatly in place while traveling.
