Product Description
Made in the French weave style by master creel maker Joseph Schnell, this exceptional piece features a large 16-inch-wide split-willow basket reinforced with vegetable-tanned strap leather, twine, twilled, and webbed wickerwood construction, and detailed buck stitching.
The creel is complemented by a George Lawrence harness and is finely tooled with the distinctive brick pattern associated with Schnell’s work. It retains its original closing straps and buckles, offering a rare glimpse into the craftsmanship and tradition of early twentieth-century sporting gear.
