A smaller scale copper stockpot from late nineteenth century France, this 1890s example reflects the rhythms of the home kitchen. Proportioned for daily use, it carries the intimacy of meals prepared close to the hearth.
The fitted lid rests neatly within its rim, while the copper has developed a rich, time softened patina. Each surface bears the gentle evidence of use, a record of simmering broths and careful tending.
Both practical and evocative, it remains fully suited for use today. On the stove or within view, it brings a sense of French domestic tradition into the kitchen.
