Vintage 1890s Majolica Frog Pitcher
Product Description
A 19th century Fives Lille 'La Grenouille à la Pipe' pitcher featuring a pipe holding frog dressed in a blue striped shirt with a red cravat and royal blue coat.
Embossed on the bottom is the De Bruyn mark with number 1306. Featured in the book "Pichets en Barbotine" by Maryse Bottero page 68.
The ceramics factory was founded in 1864 by Gustave De Bruyn (1838 - 1916) in Northern France.
