A mid nineteenth century English stool handcrafted from beechwood, its simple form shaped by the practical demands of rural life. Stools of this type were commonly used in the English countryside during the milking of sheep, valued for their low profile, stability, and ease of movement between pens and pastures. Generations of use have softened the surface and edges, bringing warmth and texture to the beechwood. Both sculptural and functional, it offers a glimpse into the working traditions of nineteenth century agricultural life.
