A beautifully crafted 19th century English steamer deck chair, made of solid mahogany with hand-woven cane panels. Designed to fold for travel, it features an elongated silhouette with an integrated leg rest that allows the chair to fully recline. Gracefully curved armrests and arched rear legs lend the piece an elegant profile, while the rich patina of the mahogany reflects more than a century of use and craftsmanship.
Steamer chairs like this were a familiar sight aboard luxury ocean liners and on the verandas of grand colonial homes, prized for their comfort and portability. This timeless design is perhaps best recognized from the Academy Award-winning film Out of Africa, where a nearly identical wood-and-cane steamer chair became one of the memorable visual elements of Karen Blixen's veranda. Meryl Streep was photographed in the chair in several promotional images for the film, further cementing its association with one of cinema's most iconic settings.

Packages sent without return authorization or a Weston Table provided shipping label will not be processed.
