A relic of a more gracious table, these Vintage 1920s Silver Plate Sandwich Tongs turn the simple act of serving into something rather special. The scissor-like form opens to two broad, scalloped plates, delicately pierced with floral cutouts that give this practical utensil the refinement expected of early twentieth-century tableware. Similar silver-plated scissor tongs from the period were used for sandwiches, cakes, and pastries. A century later, the clever design remains entirely practical. The finger loops offer an easy grip while the broad plates gently lift sandwiches, pastries, and other teatime favorites from the serving platter.
