Product Description
Dating to the 1920s, this French oyster plate reflects an era when serving oysters was an expression of refinement and hospitality. Its rich cobalt blue glaze immediately sets the piece apart. Achieving such depth and brilliance required costly cobalt oxide, one of the most expensive ceramic colorants of the period, making richly colored wares more expensive to produce than their neutral counterparts.
