Meticulous attention to detail defines this American marquetry game board from the turn of the 20th century. Constructed from a mix of native American hardwoods, the board pairs the natural variation of contrasting woods with the precision of hand-cut geometric inlay.
Its most distinctive feature is the dynamic border of alternating light and dark diagonal striped triangles framing the central playing square. The intricate pattern creates a remarkable sense of movement, while more than a century of age has deepened the color and character of the wood. Both a functional game board and a striking example of American decorative craftsmanship. May be used as an elegant serving board for drinks or cheese and charcuterie.
