Remarkably modern more than a century after its creation, this Christofle silver plate champagne bucket is defined by strong proportions and restrained ornament. Two bands of triple incised lines circle the body, while substantial handles balance the simplicity of its cylindrical form. The clean geometry reflects a late nineteenth-century approach to design that remains strikingly current. Patina from years of service gives the silver its character while preserving the clarity of the original design.
