Product Description
Among the most celebrated achievements of Victorian majolica, this Minton Stilton cheese dome and stand showcases the naturalistic modeling and richly colored glazes that made the English pottery famous during the nineteenth century. Produced in Shape No. 969, the dome is sculpted as a traditional woven straw bee skep, a form long associated with the English countryside and the beekeeping tradition. High-relief blackberry briar vines wind across the surface, their leaves and berries modeled with remarkable depth and enlivened by Minton's luminous majolica glazes. Pieces of this complexity required multiple molds, skilled hand finishing, and carefully controlled firings, making them among the most technically demanding works produced by the factory. Designed to serve Stilton, England's iconic blue cheese, it remains as much a work of ceramic sculpture as a serving piece.

Packages sent without return authorization or a Weston Table provided shipping label will not be processed.
