The MATCH Pewter Tankard Pint is designed with traditional half and full pint measurement customary of the days when pubs were the center of social life. At the end of the 17th century, an American living in London documented that it was possible to send to the pub for beer. Each morning, a servant of the "tap-house” would go from house to house collecting tankards engraved to identify ownership, plop them into a leather strapped carrying case for transport, fill, and return them to happy clients.
