Vintage 1880s French Rectangular Copper Casserole
Product Description
A rare shaped re-tinned copper antique collectible covered copper vessel with lid stamped ‘28', perfect for cooking or storing bread, potatoes, or root vegetables.
Re-tinned in England using the traditional method of pouring molten tin into the vessel into an even thick coating that is wiped creating a food safe surface (as opposed to modern electroplating which gives a much thinner coating).

Excellent Vintage Condition
Hand wash only. Do not use abrasive cleaning materials. Oven safe to 450 degrees F. Place food in vessel before turning on the flame. To maintain copper brilliance, occasionally polish with Cape Cod Metal Polishing Cloths.
