The Prague Jester
Product Description
Artisanally crafted in Prague, this puppet's carved baroque features and hand-stitched clothing tell the story of a people famous for public dissent.
In the 18th century, Czech artisans carved puppets to create a witty social commentary that weaved together the triumph and tragedies of its citizens.
A grown up puppet show today still mocks politics, the Russians and the church. As Mozart famously noted, "You will understand the spirit of Prague puppetry if you think with your heart."
